Ta’ Soldi Restaurant was opened in 1984, and since then has passed through generations on the Gatt family. From humble beginnings the restaurant has flourished into a popular Maltese eatery, seating 300 indoors and in the fine summer months another 80 outdoors. In 2006 an extensive expansion was completed to cater for the growing demand for the Restaurant.
As you enter you will be greeted by Mario & Leanne, the husband and wife team who offer friendly service and that special family business touch, this is continued in the kitchen, where the feasts of Maltese cuisine are prepared by Mario’s sister, Mariella and her husband David. This second generation Ta’ Soldi family is still heavily influenced by the first; Mario’s parents are still involved in food preparation, and of course baking! Some of Ta’ Soldi’s most popular cakes are family recipes handed down over the years, and still prepared by Mario’s Father.
Over the last 25 years much has changed, the menu is always evolving, the winery has changed to reflect the perfecting of the Maltese palate for good wine and a dolceria was created which enables Ta’ Soldi Restaurant to serve all its own freshly baked Homemade cakes . Although much has changed over the last 25 years, the fundamentals of the establishment have remained the same – offer fresh, simple flavours, using local produce at reasonable prices, in a relaxed truly Mediterranean atmosphere.
